Personalise the level of English, Maths or Science for your student

Here's everything you need to know about adjusting the level of English, Maths or Science for your student, from what you can change to what it costs and how long it lasts.

A PLP subject is another version of English, Maths, or Science added to your student's program, so one subject can sit at a different level from the rest.

There are two kinds. You can choose a different grade level for that subject, giving a Grade 8 student Grade 6 Maths or Grade 10 English while everything else stays at Grade 8. Or you can add a variant: English BYO Novel, where your student reads a novel of your choosing while covering the same curriculum, or Lifeskills Maths for a more practical focus.

Your student keeps their standard subject either way. The PLP subject is added alongside it, so nothing is taken away.

The detail worth knowing before you start:

The price follows the plan your student is already on: $99 on a yearly plan, or $49 on a term plan.

The price is set by your existing plan rather than chosen at checkout, so there is no option to take the term price on a yearly plan or the other way around.

One purchase covers one grade (or one term if you’re on a term plan), and inside it your student gets three PLP subject slots: one for English, one for Maths and one for Science.

So a Grade 8 student could have Grade 7 Maths, Grade 10 English and Grade 6 Science running at the same time, all under a single Grade 8 purchase.

Each slot holds one PLP subject at a time. Your student cannot have both Grade 7 Maths and Grade 6 Maths running together, because both would need the Maths slot. The same applies to a variant: your student could have Grade 9 English BYO Novel in the English slot, or Grade 7 English, but not both, since they'd be competing for the same slot. Moving from one to the other is a switch, and switches cost nothing.

Adding, switching and removing PLP subjects inside a grade you have already unlocked is included.

The PLP subject is then added alongside the standard subject, and the two appear together in your subject list.

Your student's core subjects are listed here, with any active PLP subjects shown against the subject they belong to.

Before you commit, this screen shows the subject image, subject information and a link to the scope and sequence, so you can see exactly what your student will be working through.

Yes, as long as you are inside a grade you have already unlocked.

Open Manage on that subject and choose the new level. You will see a "Switching personalised learning content" message confirming what is about to happen: the slot moves to the new level, and the previous PLP subject comes off. Your student's standard subject is not affected.

Yes, and it is included in your add-on.

The remove option is labelled with the subject and its level, for example, Remove English (Grade 7) content, and you will be asked to confirm. Removing one PLP subject leaves the standard subject and any other PLP subjects exactly as they are.

Not if you are adding them at your student's current grade and term. That is included with your plan.

You need PLP Support when the adjustment sits outside your program grade. On a yearly plan that means any time the grade level differs from your student's program grade. On a term plan it means any time the grade or the term differs from their current one. One thing to know: a variant uses that subject's PLP slot, the same as a different grade level would, so your student can have English BYO Novel or a different grade level of English, not both at once.

In their own Student Portal, in their subject list and on their dashboard, where they can open the content directly.

There is sometimes a short delay between you finishing the setup and it appearing for them. If it has not shown up after a little while, a refresh usually sorts it out.

Your PLP subjects and your PLP Support stay in place, and you do not pay again for the same grade and term.

Renewing keeps what you have. It does not extend it to a new grade, which matters when your student progresses.

You purchase PLP Support for the new grade, which gives you three fresh slots there.

Your earlier PLP subjects do not disappear. They stay visible in Subject Management, and your student keeps that content. Once your student no longer has an active licence for that earlier grade, you can no longer change the level of those PLP subjects, but you can still remove one if you want to.

For example, a Grade 8 student with Grade 6 Maths as their PLP subject moves up to Grade 9. Grade 6 Maths stays visible, but managing PLP subjects at Grade 9 needs PLP Support for Grade 9.

Yes, using a separate feature called Subject Exemption.

Some families want only the PLP subject listed, for instance English BYO Novel without standard English also showing. Both subjects stay part of your student's program, and Subject Exemption controls which of them appears. Add the PLP subject first, then use Subject Exemption to hide the standard subject.

You can keep managing it without purchasing PLP Support. That continues as you renew and as your student moves up a grade, so there's no new charge at those points.

You don't need to check anything or ask us to confirm it. Where this applies, you simply won't be asked to pay when you manage that student's PLP subjects.

A note on family members: this applies to the student who already has a PLP subject, not your whole family. If you have another student without one, or enrol a new student later, PLP Support will need to be purchased for them as usual.

If you leave Euka and come back: whatever you already have stays on your account, so you keep it when you re-enrol. Any new grade or term after that point is purchased in the usual way.

Does a PLP subject take the place of my student's standard subject? No. It is added alongside, so your student always keeps the content for their own grade.

Do I still pay for the standard subject? Yes. Your main plan stays exactly as it is. PLP Support sits on top of it and is not a change to your plan.

Can my student have two PLP subjects in the same subject? Not under one PLP Support purchase. Each subject has one slot per unlocked grade, and that slot holds one thing at a time: a different grade level, or a variant like English BYO Novel. You'd switch between them rather than run both.

What if I picked the wrong grade when purchasing PLP Support? Get in touch with our support team and we'll sort it out for you. There isn't a self-service way to change it at this stage.

What if I cancel my main plan? Cancelling within the cooling-off period removes the main plan and any active PLP subjects.
