How are AI and other technologies used within Euka?

This article clarifies how Euka thinks about and uses technology to support our team.

This article has been written by Euka Future Learning CEO & Co-Founder, Brett Campbell.

There is a lot of talk online about AI, and it can sometimes be misunderstood. This article explains how Euka thinks about and uses technology, including AI, so families have a clear understanding of what to expect.

Please note: euka.ai is a separate company and is not affiliated with Euka Future Learning. We are aware the similar name has caused some confusion for families searching for Euka.

What is AI?

We'll start with a brief overview of what AI is, and then explain how Euka approaches it.

AI, or artificial intelligence, is a tool trained on huge amounts of text, images, video and data. Many people use it like a search engine: you ask a question and it gives you an answer. But what it can do goes well beyond that. It learns patterns and uses them to draft, create and produce outputs. It can also help spot errors and inconsistencies that the human eye can miss.

It has helped solve maths problems that stumped researchers for decades, yet it can also make surprisingly basic mistakes. Like people, it is not perfect.

What matters to families

We understand that AI means different things to different families. For some, its rapid rise brings a sense of caution and a concern about the human element of learning. For others, it sparks excitement about the potential for highly personalised, cutting-edge support. For most parents, though, it isn't about the tools or technology used. It's about whether their children receive a genuine, high-quality education that prepares them for life after school.

That's why our approach to learning, and our commitment to outcomes aligned with the Australian Curriculum, stay steadfast, regardless of the technology or tools we use to enhance the experience.

How does Euka approach AI?

In practice, AI acts a bit like a team member. It can often complete tasks more efficiently and, in many cases, more accurately. As an organisation pioneering this industry, we approach AI the way we would any technology, or any teammate who joins us.

We set clear expectations, and we review, question and improve the work, just as we would with any colleague's work. Those checks and balances are very important, and they are where our Education team and teachers come in.

Euka Curriculum

Our Education team builds the learning experience and sets the sequence, standards and outcomes for every grade, term, subject and lesson. Our lessons are mapped and aligned to the Australian Curriculum, and more than 40 qualified teachers have worked on our curriculum within the last 24 months alone.

We use technology tools, including AI, to help with drafting, reviewing and editing, and educators approve every content and curriculum decision. Using these tools helps us improve the quality and accuracy of our content and keep it consistently aligned.

Does Euka use AI to create images and materials?

In some cases. Where we believe it adds to the overall experience, we use AI to help create certain images, tables and worksheets.

How does Euka customer support work?

Our support system is designed to help families as quickly and effectively as possible. It starts with a routing system led by AI. Eko, our AI support assistant, knows Euka's products and help content and is available 24/7.

When Eko can answer the question, which is more than 70% of the time, the query is resolved straight away. When a request needs human input, our team steps in and works alongside Eko, during Australian Eastern business hours.

There is always the opportunity to liaise with a human team member. We take customer support seriously, and our technology decisions are guided by how we can best serve families in a timely, practical and clear way.

How does Euka provide human support?

Our support team are available to respond via support chat and email within business hours. That is 8 AM to 4.30 PM AEST/AEDT, on weekdays. The fastest way to reach our team is via the support chat on site during these hours. You will typically receive a response in less than 5 minutes.

How we decide

Technology keeps improving, and so does what we can offer families. As it does, we will always consider whether a new tool improves the experience for families, creates better outcomes, supports better learning, and helps keep delivery efficient, which supports keeping Euka accessible for families.
