Homeschooling with Euka - Supporting Multiple Children

How can I homeschool more than 1 child at a time?

Homeschooling Education

How to Effectively Facilitate Your Child's Learning at Home

As a registered home educator, you have the responsibility of facilitating your children's learning and assessing their work. We have put together some tips to help you successfully navigate this journey.

Personalised learning for every child

One of the greatest benefits of homeschooling is the flexibility to tailor your child's learning experience to their individual needs.

With Euka, every student can progress at a pace that suits them. This gives you the freedom to spend extra time on concepts that need more practice, move ahead when your child is ready, and adapt each day's learning to suit your family's routine.

Managing Multiple Children

Every homeschooling family is different, and there's no single "right" way to structure your day.

If you're supporting children across different grade levels, many families find it helpful to:

  • Begin the day with individual English and Mathematics lessons.

  • Come together for subjects such as Science or History, where siblings can enjoy learning alongside one another.

  • Rotate your focus between children throughout the week while encouraging independent learning as confidence grows.

The flexibility of homeschooling allows you to adjust your routine as your children's needs change.

Work Samples

As your child progresses through the program, it's important to keep examples of their learning throughout the year. These work samples provide a valuable record of your child's progress and are used to support your homeschooling records and reporting requirements.

Previous Learning Experience

Students using our previous learning experience can continue completing the dedicated Work Sample activities throughout the program. Each work sample is accompanied by a Parent Assessment Checklist (found in the parent planner), making it easy to identify the curriculum outcomes covered and record your child's progress. Once completed, simply keep the work sample together with its corresponding checklist as part of your homeschooling records.

New Learning Experience

Students using our new learning experience have the flexibility to choose work samples from the Apply section of each lesson. The Apply activities are designed to demonstrate your child's understanding of the concepts they've learned and make excellent work samples for your records.

The optional Practise activities provide additional opportunities to reinforce learning and build confidence. While these activities don't need to be collected as work samples, families are welcome to keep them if they'd like to capture additional examples of their child's progress.

Our team is also preparing further guidance to support families in selecting and organising work samples within the new learning experience.
