Does my child need to do tests or exams?

At Euka we believe that tests show what a child remembers on a particular day rather than what they know and can demonstrate in a practical context. We therefore feel that testing can be an unnecessarily stressful experience for both students and parents. This is why there are no compulsory tests or exams within our program.

Having said that, we do offer optional quizzes that are built into our program. These quizzes can be self-marked, which means your child will be able to see their results immediately. It also allows them to work through what they got right and what they need to review. They can redo these quizzes as many times as they like.

These quizzes serve as another way to track your child's progress and see how they are understanding the material. They can also help identify any areas where your child may need additional support or practice. These quizzes are just one option for assessing your child's progress.

We understand that every child learns differently, and we believe in providing various methods for students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding. Work samples have been placed through the program as part of the daily or weekly work. These pieces of work have been carefully chosen, as the completion of the activity shows mastery of the concepts required for the unit of work. In this way, the student’s ability to demonstrate what they know, in a practical and relevant way, can be shown.
