How to Report/Re-Register Every 10 Months in Queensland

In Queensland, you are required to report/re-register every 10 months. This process is essential for the Department of Education to monitor your child's progress and ensure they are receiving an appropriate education. The HEU (Homeschooling Evaluation Unit) will contact you via email in the 9th month of your reporting period to remind you that your reporting due date is approaching. This email will also contain a link to an online reporting form where you can upload your reporting documents. You will have a full month to complete this report, and you can submit it at any time within that month.

Required Documents

Among other documents, you will need to submit work samples as part of your child's assessment. Work samples provide evidence of your child's learning and are an essential part of the reporting process. To learn more about how Euka work samples and parent assessment work, we recommend watching below 👇

When selecting work samples, make sure they demonstrate improvement and include work from different times throughout the year or term. Work samples that show your child's thinking process or original writing are highly beneficial.

Parent Annotations

In addition to work samples, you will also need to submit six parent assessment checklists. These checklists, also known as "annotations" by the Department of Education, are included in our Report Creator. Annotations allow you to reflect on your child's progress and provide valuable insights for the HEU.

Year in Review

The HEU will also request a "Year in Review" form which requires you to write about your child's progress over the past 10 months of Homeschooling. It is also built into our Report Creator as the General Questionnaire.

Helpful Resources

To assist you in navigating the Government Report Creator, we recommend watching our video series below. These videos cover various topics such as using the Report Creator and providing tips for a successful reporting process. You can access these videos in the Report Creator section of the Student Portal.

How to upgrade to the Report Creator?

If you'd like to upgrade to our premium reporting service, it's quick and easy.

If you're a brand new Euka family, you can simply add the Government Report Creator when enrolling into your first program.

If you have an existing enrolment, you can add the service by logging into your Parent Portal, viewing your child's enrolment and clicking "Add service".

Please note: Euka is not able to submit the generated report on your behalf to the Department of Education. It is a legal requirement that the parent/guardian (facilitator of the student's learning) be the one to lodge this information.
