Understanding changes to Euka yearly plans - 2026

Updated this week

We’ve recently updated how yearly plans work for new purchases, both for new and existing families.

This change is designed to simplify learning pathways, reduce complexity across grades and terms, and make ongoing support (including homeschooling registration and renewals) clearer and more consistent for families.

Here’s what’s changing, who it affects, and what your options are if you’re starting with Euka mid-year.

What’s changed?

Previously, when purchasing a yearly plan for Foundation to Grade 10, families could choose a starting term (for example, Term 3).
This resulted in students being enrolled across partial terms in multiple grades, such as:

  • Grade 4 – Term 3 & 4

  • Grade 5 – Term 1 & 2

While flexible, this approach created complexity, especially when supporting:

  • Homeschool registration and renewals

  • Plan renewals

  • Grade transitions

What happens now?

For all new yearly plan purchases, for Foundation to Grade 10, students are enrolled in:

  • All 4 terms of a single selected grade

This means:

  • No partial grades

  • No mixed-grade term combinations

  • Clearer learning progression and simpler administration

Note: This does not affect Grade 11 or 12 plans as they already include all terms and don’t offer selecting a starting term.

Who does this affect?

New customers

All new families purchasing a yearly plan will select:

  • A grade, and

  • Receive all four terms for that grade

Selecting a starting term is no longer available for yearly plans.

Existing customers

If you have a non-renewing plan or cancel auto-renew and make a new purchase in the future:

  • The new yearly plan will now follow this updated structure

  • A starting term won’t be selectable

If you already have a yearly plan with auto-renew enabled:

  • Your plan will continue to renew as expected, including partial terms in multiple grades, if that’s what’s currently configured.

  • You won’t be affected by this change, unless you cancel your auto-renewal.

Starting with Euka mid-year? Your options

We know many families join Euka at different points in the year. If you’re starting mid-year, there are flexible options to help your child transition smoothly.

1. Starting mid-year and needing access to specific terms

You may wish to focus on specific terms first before moving into a full yearly plan.

Options include:

  • Start with a term plan
Begin with a term plan for Term 2, 3 or 4 for your selected grade, depending on your situation. Then move to a yearly plan for the next grade when ready. This avoids partial grades in the future.

  • Start with a yearly plan for the selected grade
Access all four terms with a yearly plan, with the flexibility to revisit earlier terms if helpful for revision, consolidation or confidence building.

  • Need the Government Registration Service?
Both our term and yearly plans now offer the Government Registration Service if you need homeschooling registration support. This can be purchased alongside your plan and renewed as needed. This also applies to our Premium Reporting service.

2. On a plan with partial terms that needs manual renewal

If your current plan includes partial terms across multiple grades and is non-renewing, or you need to manually purchase the next set of terms, the options below can help you move forward smoothly.

To keep things simple and support a smooth transition:

  • Finish any remaining terms of the current grade using a term plan. This allows your child to complete the grade without needing to purchase a full yearly plan.

  • Begin the next grade on a yearly plan for a clear, full-year learning pathway, or

  • Continue with a term plan if flexibility is important for your family right now.

3. Transitioning at the end of Primary (G6) or Secondary (G10)

When moving from Primary to Secondary (G6 → G7), or Secondary to Senior (G10 → G11), plan pricing and grade structures change. If your child’s plan includes partial terms, this can sometimes mean there are remaining terms at the end of the grade that aren’t covered by your plan.

In these situations, we recommend:

  • Switching to a term plan to complete the remaining terms of Grade 6 or Grade 10

Once the grade is complete, you can then choose to:

  • Start the next grade on a yearly plan, for example beginning Secondary (G7) or Senior (G11), or

  • For Secondary grades (G7-G10), continue with a term plan if you’d prefer flexibility.

This ensures your child can complete their current grade without interruption, while giving your family clear options for what comes next.

4. If large upfront payments are difficult

If paying for a full yearly plan at once doesn’t suit your family right now:

  • Term plans can offer a more manageable way to spread costs

  • This can be a practical option while still giving your child meaningful access to learning

  • With term plans, you’ll also have access to our premium services such as the Government Registration Service and Premium Reporting.
