Euka & Distance Education - The Comparison

Both Euka and Distance Education cover the full Australian Curriculum, however Euka provides a program which can be individualised to suit the learning needs of students.

In comparison to distance education, we provide plenty of flexibility and encourage students to work at their most comfortable pace. This flexibility applies to how students structure their day, and how they make choices to suit their style of learning (worksheet or hands-on activity).

Distance education is school at home and students are required to sit and work during school hours. This means they need to do far more activities to fill the time, and are limited to set schedules and deadlines that may not allow them to find the pace that works best for them. We find that without strict deadlines, many students flourish and begin to enjoy and take initiative in their learning. They can focus on quality of learning and not necessarily quantity.

Many students learning with Euka find that they can complete their work in a couple of hours in the morning, or chunk their study into 3-4 days, leaving afternoons and longer weekends to pursue other learning interests and passions. We also have an online community with thousands of Homeschooling families who post their work, celebrate and laugh together!

The Euka program is written by teachers, empowering parents to take on the role of learning support and tailoring the learning to what their child needs, rather than having to know it all.

Our teachers are also here for support at any time. We find that as parents become more engaged directly in their child’s learning, they also gain valuable insights about their children and their learning, not to mention, more quality time with their family as they read, do activities and experiments together.
