Can my young children complete the program online?

Updated over 4 months ago

Find tips below on ensuring your child can complete the Euka program online.

Because of the general learning needs of this age group, we recognise the importance for the students to still be doing things like handwriting, sensory activities, cutting out and physical sorting which is why we include the hands-on aspects in the lessons. Please don't worry, there are no compulsory activities so if you only do the work samples as printouts, or change them to digital activities, that will be completely fine. You will still be able to record the progress electronically by taking a photograph of the work sample. This will be handy when it comes to reporting time.

Additional accounts included

With your enrolment, Euka includes accounts for Matific & Literacy Planet.

Literacy Planet will ensure your student is exposed to age-appropriate literacy knowledge and skill development. We have structured the English program so you can easily locate the work sample items and these can be modified to become Word documents or PowerPoints which can be developed using the computer. This also works to improve the digital literacy levels of our students.

Log in to Matific and have access to activities that students love. This is a handy diagnostic tool to see where your student may be experiencing learning gaps. Simply complete the Euka lessons (videos, explanations and examples) that you can use to teach the content to your student before clicking on the Matific links to consolidate that learning.

Information for other subject areas

For subjects outside of English and Mathematics, you will notice a range of learning activities such as the Hairy Caterpillar Science Experiment found in Grade 2, Term 1, Week 1 Science. You may like to discuss the images on the screen with the student rather than physically completing the experiment. The same goes for any other experiments - YouTube videos will offer the same learning outcomes in many cases and you can reach out to our teachers if you need help locating something specific. Otherwise, you will find more than enough online content already provided in the Euka lessons.

Learning targets for each term are presented on the parent assessment checklists (contained within your parent planner) and these provide a way for you to prioritise the learning for your child.
