What is Mathspace?

A student's full solution, with feedback and hints provided by Mathspace.

Mathspace is an educational app and online platform that provides a comprehensive math learning experience for students. It offers a wide range of interactive math content for middle and high school students, covering topics from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus. Mathspace is designed to enhance learning by providing step-by-step feedback and personalised instruction

Why did Euka select Mathspace?

Euka chose Mathspace as a key component of our educational resources because of its ability to provide an interactive and supportive math learning experience. Mathspace’s step-by-step guidance and interactive exercises encourage students to engage deeply with mathematical concepts and develop strong problem-solving skills. Its adaptive learning technology tailors the content to meet individual student needs, ensuring that each student can progress at their own pace while receiving the support they require. This personalised approach aligns with Euka's commitment to fostering a thorough understanding of mathematics and building confidence in our students.

How to activate and access Mathspace

Activating your complementary Mathspace account is simple, and automated the first time you access the Mathspace platform.

Accessing via additional content menu in the Student Learning Portal:

To activate Mathspace for the first time, click on additional content in your Student Learning Portal and then the "Access Content" link under Mathspace.

Your Mathspace account will be immediately active and accessible in the platform.

Accessing via content links in the student maths lessons

Students are able to click directly into relevant activity links within each Euka Maths lesson.

The following image will appear at the top of each Euka Maths lesson in the student portal. You can then click on "View Resources" which will take you to the bottom of the page where you can access and complete those linked activities.

Example of linked activities at the bottom of each Euka Maths lesson below.

Each lesson will highlight if you've accessed it and also provides you with the opportunity to complete once again if desired at any time.

Using the Mathspace Platform

Getting started on the Mathspace Platform - First Login

On first use of Mathspace, there will be a quick onboarding sequence to set up your account. If you are prompted for a grade, please select the corresponding grade to your Euka program. It will typically be preselected for you.

Day-to-day free roaming on the Mathspace Platform

If you want your child to spend some time on the Mathspace platform, we recommend starting at the skills menu and selecting a skills focus. You can do that by navigating to "Skills" on the top menu and then selecting a topic as a focus area. We recommend setting a focus area in line with what you are working through in the Euka program at the moment. If you are unsure, feel free to select any skill as these are all skills your child will need to complete the grade. When a skill is complete, Mathspace will automatically set a new focus area for you.

A skill will be a focus area if it has the small red flag next to it.

Once you have a skills focus (or go with the recommended one by Mathspace) then proceed back to the dashboard and begin the practice activity

On the dashboard, we always recommend kicking off a new skill focus by starting a check-in which will inform the Mathspace engine what your child knows already about the focus area.

Alternatively, feel free to head straight into the practice activities!

If you believe your child has mastered a set of skills, feel free to have them complete the check-in again which will verify they know all the required skills to set a new skill focus. Mathspace will indicate to you the progress of skills in both the current grade and prior grades in the skill tab for that skill focus area.

Completing a lesson/worksheet

You will notice several tab options at the top section of activities. These indicate the following:-

Lesson - Instructions and video assistance in explaining the concept to the covered

Worksheet - Questions asked

Practice - Where you can actively input text and receive worked answer information

Mathspace FAQ

Q: How do I change the grade for Mathspace

You can edit the grade for Mathspace by clicking "request a grade change" in your parent portal under "Manage Programs".

Q: Is there a Mathspace username and password?

You can access Mathspace from the Euka Student Learning portal without the need to log in. As long as you have logged in to Euka, you can access Mathspace.

Q: Is there a Mathspace parent account for Euka Parents?

All key settings and information will be available in the Euka Parent portal, as a result there is no parent login for Mathspace. We are rolling out new features to access key data in the parent portal over the coming months.

Euka provides complimentary access to Mathspace as part of our homeschooling package, allowing students to access engaging math content through a simplified Single Sign-On (SSO) process. This SSO ensures that students can easily log in without needing multiple credentials, enhancing security and ease of use. With this setup, unique parent accounts or detailed progress tracking through a separate parent login are not included within the scope of the complimentary access provided by Euka.

Q: What happens if my current enrolment with Euka lapses?

If your current enrolment with Euka lapses, your access to Mathspace will also be discontinued. If you then choose to re-enrol with Euka, new Mathspace accounts will be created for your student/s.
PLEASE NOTE: In these instances, your student's previous progress cannot be retained.
