Many Euka students complete apprenticeships alongside their homeschooling studies. As our students are homeschoolers, the parent is the legal education provider. The homeschool approval you receive is proof from the Department of Education that the parent can be named as the legal education provider and is able to sign on behalf of a school.
School-based apprenticeships are slightly different for homeschoolers. When a student is in mainstream school, the school takes on a certain responsibility for the student's progress in agreement with the business. Teachers check in with individual students for support/guidance and there are also insurance and financial obligations the school fulfils.
Home educators assume the roles and responsibilities of the school concerning insurance policies etc. This is certainly something you should discuss with the Department of Education in your state as they are the governing body and will happily help regarding the homeschooling/school based apprenticeship area.
