How to submit the "Statement of Intent" form

If you're planning to register to become an education provider in the ACT, you're probably aware that there are a few steps involved. One of these steps is submitting the "Statement of Intent" form. Here's what you need to know.

Step 1: Submit your full application for registration

Before you can submit the "Statement of Intent" form, you must first submit your full application for registration to the ACT Department of Education. Once you have completed and submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email from the department.

The statement of intent form submission will need to include all of the registration documents you received from Euka as part of the full Registration Package:

  • Your child’s “Registration Package” (Individualised Learning plan for your child/comprehensive documentation answering all relevant additional Information required for Homeschooling in your state, this is a single Document)

  • Scope and Sequence

  • Birth Certificate

Please Note: Home education registration is for up to two years in the ACT, which is absolutely great news!

Step 2: Wait for confirmation of receipt

After submitting your application, it may take a few business days for the department to process it. During this time, you should continue to check your email regularly for any updates. Once the department has received and processed your application, they will send you a confirmation email stating that they have received it.

Step 3: Submit the "Statement of Intent" form

After receiving the confirmation email from the department, you will have approximately 3 months to submit the "Statement of Intent" form. This form is a declaration of your intent to become an education provider in the ACT.

To complete the form, you will need to provide some basic information about yourself and your proposed education program. You can download the form from the department's website or request a physical copy to be sent to you.

Step 4: Wait for approval

Once you have submitted the "Statement of Intent" form, the department will review it and make a decision. If your form is approved, you will be granted registration as an education provider in the ACT.

If your form is not approved, the department will provide you with an explanation of why it was denied. You may be able to make changes and resubmit your form for reconsideration.

In conclusion

Submitting the "Statement of Intent" form is an important step in the process of becoming a registered education provider in the ACT. Make sure to submit your full application for registration first and then keep an eye out for the confirmation email before submitting the form.
