How to Apply for Home Education Registration in ACT

We are here to help you through the process of enrolling and registering for homeschooling in ACT, Australia. Follow the steps below:

Step 1: Request a Registration Form

First and foremost, you will need to request a registration form from the Home Education team. You can do this by contacting them via phone at 6205 5429 or by email at [email protected]. This form will serve as the initial application for your child's home education registration.

Step 2: Enrol with Euka

Euka provides your full year learning plan and covers the full Curriculum

Step 3: What to Include in Your Initial Application

When submitting your initial application, there are a few key things you will need to include:

- a completed application form (available by contacting the Home Education team by email at [email protected])
- child's birth certificate or passport
- a certified copy of proof of parental responsibility (child’s birth certificate or Medicare/health care card)
- a certified copy of proof of ACT residence (for example both sides of an ACT driver’s license, a rental agreement, or a utility bill). Note: a rates notice, a telecommunication bill or other registration notifications cannot be accepted as proof of ACT residency.

Once you have all of these documents prepared, you can submit your application to [email protected].

Step 4: Following Application Submission

After submitting your application, you can expect a wait of up to 28 days for approval. Having said that, you can start homeschooling your child as soon as you have submitted a completed application. You will receive confirmation of your application's submission via email from the Home Education team.

Step 5: The Full Registration/Renewal Process

After submitting your initial application, you will have three months to submit a "Statement of Intent." This statement outlines your intentions for your child's home education and is an important part of the registration process.

Statement Of Intent: Government Registration service option


-Your child’s “Registration Package” (Individualised Education plan for your child/comprehensive documentation answering all relevant additional Information required for homeschooling in your state, this is a single Document)
-Scope and Sequence (Full Year Learning Plan)
-Birth Certificate

Your home education registration will be valid for up to two years.
