How to Register for Homeschooling in Western Australia

⚠️ Please Note: It is strongly recommended that you make use of Euka's Registration Service rather than attempting Registration without the service. ⚠️

In order to Homeschool your child in Western Australia, you must first go through a registration process with the WA Department of Education. This process can seem daunting, but we have broken it down into simple steps to make it easier for you.

Step 1: Contact Your Regional Education Office

Before beginning the registration process, you must contact your nearest Regional Education office and ask for the Home Education Moderator.

You can find the contact information for your nearest office by following this link.

The moderator will provide you with an initial application form to start the registration process.

Important Information for Western Australia

In WA, if you are able to complete the initial application form you receive after contacting the Regional Education office and are able to obtain/submit your child’s birth certificate back to WA with the completed application form, you will be registered for three months.

After those three months, you will be required to provide the learning plan and other related registration documentation to be approved for a longer registration period, plus you will be required to report on those 3 months of Homeschooling with Work Samples and Parent Assessment Checklists.

Initial Application Documents:

We recommend completing this step as soon as possible in the registration process, as it can take some time to gather the required documentation.

Step 2: Enrol with Euka

While it is possible to complete the registration process on your own, we highly recommend utilising Euka's Registration Service for a smoother experience and a higher success rate. We will handle all of the registration paperwork for you, as well as provide support and guidance throughout the entire process.

To enrol with Euka, simply follow the link to our Registration Service.

Step 3: Ready Your Registration Paperwork

The next step is to gather all of the required documentation for your registration. These documents include:

Application Checklist

Do it yourself Option

  • Scope and Sequence

  • A completed individualisation template (template attached)

  • Work Samples & Parent Assessment Checklists from the first three months of Homeschooling

Again, if you have enrolled with Euka's Registration Service, we will handle all of this paperwork for you to ensure the best chance of approval from the Department of Education.

Step 4: Submit Your Application

After three months from your initial registration date, the Regional Education office will contact you to follow up on your application. It is important to submit your application at this time to avoid any delays in approval.

Once you have completed all of these steps and submitted your application, you will then receive a registration certificate of approval from the WA Department of Education.

Please Note ⚠️ Wait until you receive your initial registration certificate of approval from the WA Department to un-enrol from mainstream school.

Once you receive this, you can forward it to the mainstream school to un-enrol and begin Homeschooling.
