How to Homeschool in South Australia
We are here to help you through the process of enrolling and registering for homeschooling in SA, Australia. Follow the steps below:
Enrolment
Unlike other states, South Australia requires all children to be enrolled at a government or non-government school in order to receive an exemption for the purposes of homeschooling.
Registration
After you have decided to Homeschool your child, you will need to complete a SA Homeschool application form. This form can be found here. It's important to note that the SA Homeschooling unit requires you to directly fill out the online registration application form rather than just sending in paperwork.
Do it yourself option
If you choose the do it yourself option, you can refer to the Scope and Sequence document. This document outlines the learning objectives for each grade level and can be used as a guide when answering questions on the SA Homeschooling Registration Application form. However, it's important to not copy and paste anything from the Scope and Sequence document into the SA form. Instead, use it as a reference and only submit it if requested by the SA Homeschooling unit.
