Homeschooling Reporting Requirements in South Australia

In South Australia, Homeschooling families are required to report on their child's progress in their education each year. This is to ensure that students are receiving a quality education and are meeting the necessary standards for their grade level.
Once your registration period expires, you will be required to report/re-register shortly or immediately after. If you are not aware of your reporting due date, please contact the SA Department to confirm.
In order to make the reporting process as smooth and efficient as possible, please follow the guidelines provided by the SA Department of Education.

The SA Department of Education is the governing body responsible for overseeing education in the state of South Australia. They have specific requirements for Homeschooling families when it comes to reporting and re-registration.

Basic Reporting Template
In order to make the reporting process as smooth and efficient as possible, it is recommended to use a basic reporting template. Please have this template ready to submit to the SA Department of Education.
Work Samples
Work samples are a key part of your child's report. The SA Department of Education requires a minimum of 2 work samples from English and Maths, and 1 work sample for every other subject for each term of the academic year. If you choose to use the Government Report Creator, you will need to provide a concise overview of your child's progress throughout the year, including 4 work samples from each subject area. It is always a good idea to keep a few extra work samples on hand, as reporting is often up to the direction of the moderator.
Parent Assessment Checklists
In addition to work samples, the SA Department of Education also requires corresponding Parent Assessment Checklists. For every work sample, you will need to provide a checklist completed by the parent. If you have 15 work samples, you will need 15 checklists.
