Once your registration has been received by the Department, it will be assessed by the Curriculum team. This team will then conduct a student enrolment check to ensure that the conditions of home education approval are being met. You will receive written notification of the outcome of this assessment.

To ensure that suitable home education is being provided, a home visit may be arranged. This visit will include a check to see if the child is making satisfactory progress in their education. It is also an opportunity for the curriculum team to provide support and guidance to the parents.

The Euka program includes all you need to make reporting simple.

The work samples are placed throughout the Term and are just part of the weekly activities. These work sample lessons come with Parent assessment checklists that enable you to mark off the curriculum objectives that your child has been able to cover. If you are working on a work sample and you find your child does not fully grasp a concept, simply stop and go over the concept again. The whole point is to allow them to understand all new concepts and to slow down when needed to enable each concept to be grasped. In this case a test is not needed as you already know that they know. The Work Samples are kept in a separate folder with the Parent Assessment Checklist forms and together form a portfolio of wonderful work that shows full coverage of the curriculum. Not only are these folders invaluable for registration and reporting, but they also become a keepsake of many of the years most enjoyable activities and accomplishments. If you have added the Euka premium reporting service to your enrolment, you will have the opportunity of uploading your work samples as you go. You will not need to fill in the Parent Assessment checklists as we will take care of that for you. When you are ready for your Homeschooling reporting documentation, you can simply request the report to be created and provided by the Euka team.

Home inspections for approved home education take place during Term 3 of the school year. The focus of these inspections is on what the child can do, has achieved, and can understand, rather than just the work that has been completed.

After the home inspection, a report will be prepared with the outcome. This report will be sent to the parents for their review.
