Updated over 5 months ago

How do I get started?

Most families follow this plan:

  1. Enrol via our site by clicking here

  2. Reach out to your state Homeschooling body and submit the application. This could take several weeks depending on your state
Find the details for your State on our website here: Registration for your state

  3. Let your child's school know that you have decided to Homeschool

How does the program work and how much work is there?

We deliver the Homeschool program to you in a full 10 week term that is aligned with the Australian curriculum guidelines.

What are the Department of Education requirements?

The Department of Education requires that you cover the full curriculum.

Most families choose to cover the program by doing 1 lesson of Maths and English and 1 other subject per day. (2 others for high school grade levels).

Each week contains 5 lessons of Maths, 5 lessons of English (1 for each day of the week in line with the Department of Education’s curriculum requirements). PLUS we also include lessons for all other subjects so you can choose 1 other subject per day for primary and 2 extra subjects per day for high school.

Is there flexibility in terms of when and how the student completes their work?

You have complete flexibility with how you schedule the week’s work. As long as you meet the Department's minimum requirements you can do it any way that works for your family. Each individual is different so you can tailor the schedule to your child’s needs.

Does the program come with instructions and answers?

Yes, we include all the instructions and answers (from Grades 3-10) for parents, so you have full transparency. You can find the answers in the “Getting Started” section of the Euka online portal.

What do we need to prepare and show to the Department of Education?

We deliver a learning plan to you called the “Scope and Sequence” documents. This is used for both registration and assessment. Your learning plan will need to be individualised for your child. We also provide a select list of the work sample activities picked out of each term. These are the activities that you need to keep aside once your child has completed them as evidence of learning to show the Department of Education. We also provide a parent checklist and comment sheet to be completed for reporting that goes along with each work sample activity your child completes. The Euka premium Reporting Service removes the need to fill out the parent checklists.

Will you do the registration for us?

Our Government Registration Service is offered to families enrolling for four consecutive terms via our Yearly offering and is available for purchase during checkout. Our team will compile the full registration package for you, based on your submission of a registration questionnaire. You will receive all the documentation already individualised for your child and ready to simply send to the Department of Education with your application.

The Registration service includes:

  • Full-year Learning Plans (Scope and Sequences)

  • Individualised Learning plan for your child

  • A comprehensive document answering all relevant Additional Information required for Homeschooling

Will you help us compile reports for the government?

Our premium Government Reporting Service can be added to any Yearly plan (4 consecutive terms). As part of this service, you have access to Euka’s revolutionary report creator which enables you as the parent to consolidate comprehensive reports throughout the year via your child's Student Learning Portal. This will enable and give you access to -

  • Create academic transcripts

  • Generate Euka grade completion certificates

  • In depth report creation

  • Consolidated dashboard

  • In-built guidance

  • More free time to focus on your child's learning

  • Keepsake of your child’s learning

If you’d like to select our premium Government Reporting Service, please remember to add it to your program when purchasing. If you did not add it at the time of purchase, you are able to add it via your parent account with any full year (4 consecutive Term) enrolment.

It's already mid-year, but I want to purchase the Registration & Reporting service.

You can select your Starting Term (1-4) when purchasing a Yearly Plan; that way you are not enrolling in any terms you have already completed.
When you're purchasing your program, select the Yearly Plan and remember to add the Government Registration & Reporting Services. Once you complete your enrolment, you'll have the option to select your Starting Term during your student's onboarding process. (Starting Term is available for Foundation through Grade 9.)

How do I know if my child is doing enough to pass their grade?

We provide you with a comprehensive assessment section that makes it easy to understand what you need to do. This section contains a list of work sample activities that align with required outcomes in the curriculum, just like assignments at school.

When your child completes each work sample activity, you can match it with the Parent Checklist that goes with that specific activity. You then simply check off the boxes showing what they have covered in the curriculum and write a few sentences about what they have done.

Once all the points are checked off, just put the sample and the checklist together in a special "Work Sample" folder ready to show the Department of Education.
If you have done all the work samples and checklists in the program, then your child will have well and truly covered off everything they need to pass that grade. This takes the pressure off you as a parent and them as a student as they don’t have stressful tests or timed exams.
