Home Visit with your AP (Authorised Person)
All homeschoolers in NSW are assigned an AP (Authorised Person) who is your point of contact in NESA. The AP's role is to ensure that you have a thorough education program and a good way to assess its efficiency. When using the Euka program, you can feel confident that all subjects are covered and that your work samples and assessments show successful learning for your child.
Learning Plan/Work Samples
Each AP can give slightly different advice and it's our obligation as home schoolers to follow the individual advice they offer. They like to see you are using the NSW-aligned Scope and Sequence - this is only used for registration purposes (not teaching). The parent planner document contains some handy resources for you so you could have a hard copy of that ready for them if you are feeling a little anxious about answering questions about subjects and keeping track of the learning. You could mention to NESA that you intend to follow the Euka set of work samples listed on the parent assessment checklists and tailor the tasks to suit your child.
Work Space
Take some time to think about preparing a study area for your child and how you will organise and store their learning supplies. This will show that you are ready to get started with a successful learning journey.
Timetable
They may require a study timetable. I have attached some examples for you. Keep in mind, the timetable can be flexible and should be altered to suit your child's needs as they move through the year.
