When starting out with Euka, you might be wondering: What materials do I need? Do I need books or a computer? What should I print? Here’s everything you need to know!
Printing & Lesson Materials
With Euka, all of your child’s lessons and printable activity sheets are available in the student portal.
For Grades 3 and above, students can complete lessons online digitally.
For younger students or those who prefer handwriting, you can print activity sheets and store them in a binder.
If printing feels like too much, an alternative is to have your child write their answers in a notebook while reading the lesson instructions from the student portal. This saves on printing while still allowing for written work. You can choose whichever method works best for your family and adjust as needed.
We recommend keeping completed work in a safe place and scanning any work samples required for reporting to ensure you have backups.
What if I don’t have a printer?
Many families successfully homeschool without a printer, especially those travelling. Here are some options:
Have your child view lessons online and write answers in a notebook.
Download activity sheets onto a USB and print them in bulk at Officeworks or another printing service, then bind them into booklets.
Additional Materials You May Need
Some lessons, such as science experiments and arts and crafts, require additional materials. General stationery and household items will also be useful & sufficient. To help you prepare, refer to page 11 of your Parent Planner, where you’ll find a list of recommended supplies for the term.
Accessing the Parent Planner
Log into the Student Portal and go to the Getting Started Resources tab.
Or, log into your Parent Portal and find it under Student Documents.
If you don’t have all the materials listed, no worries! You can substitute with items you already have, adapt the lesson, or skip it entirely.
English Novels
If your child’s English lessons require a novel, you have two options:
Physical Copy – You will need to source the book yourself.
Digital Copy – Free online versions are available. A complete Novel List with links to digital copies can be found on page 9 of your Parent Planner.
Devices & Technology
Euka provides an online student portal, so having the right device is important. We recommend:
A computer, laptop, or tablet for the best experience.
Use Google Chrome as your web browser.
Keeping software updated to ensure the latest version is running smoothly.
By ensuring you have the right setup and materials, your child will be well-prepared for a successful learning experience with Euka!
