Understanding Termly Academic Transcripts in Your Parent Portal

What are Termly Academic Transcripts? Where can I create one? What are they used for?

Updated this week

We’re excited to announce a new feature in the Reports section of the Parent Portal – Termly Academic Transcripts! This addition makes it easier than ever to track your child’s learning journey and celebrate their achievements.

What’s New?

The Reports section, in your Parent Portal, now offers all families with students from Foundation through to Year 12 the ability to:

  • Add feedback on performance and progress for each subject in the term, as well as the overall term

  • Download an Academic Transcript report for each term

Reports also allow families to keep track of their student’s learning, whether that’s:

  • Viewing lesson completion percentages

  • Reviewing quiz results and assignment results, where available

What is an Academic Transcript?

An Academic Transcript is a snapshot of your child’s progress based on parent feedback throughout the term. It provides a professional record of achievements and learning, helping you:

  • Capture your child’s lesson progress

  • Celebrate their successes

  • Prepare for future educational paths

Transcripts can be generated and downloaded for each term from the Reports section in the Parent Portal.

What is included in my child’s Termly Academic Transcript?

Your child’s academic transcript provides a comprehensive overview of their learning journey for the term. It captures a variety of information so you can get a clear picture of progress, strengths, and areas for growth. Each transcript includes:

  • Parent feedback comments: Reflect on your observations and insights about your child’s progress, effort, and achievements across each subject and term. These comments help personalise the record of learning.

  • Lesson completion percentages: Track the number of lessons completed each term, giving you a sense of consistency and engagement with their learning.

  • Quiz results: See how your child performed across different topics and lessons, helping identify areas where they excel or may need extra support.
Please note: quiz results are available for the new Grade 10 end-of-term quizzes for Science and History.

  • Assignment results (Years 11 and 12 assessed university pathway students): For senior students, transcripts include assignment outcomes to provide a full picture of academic performance and readiness for tertiary study.

Together, these elements create a detailed snapshot of your child’s progress that is both informative and celebratory.

What is an Academic Transcript Used For?

Academic transcripts serve multiple purposes and can be an invaluable resource for families throughout their homeschooling journey.
They can be used to:

  • Record keep: Maintain a clear, professional record of your child’s achievements and learning progress over time. This is useful for reflection, planning, and identifying areas of growth.

  • Celebrate achievements: Highlight milestones, successes, and personal growth each term. Many families keep transcripts as a cherished keepsake of their child’s learning journey.

  • Support transitions: Provide documentation when your child transitions into mainstream schooling, applies for tertiary education, or seeks employment opportunities.

  • Overseas schooling: For families returning to Australia or moving internationally, transcripts can be shared with prospective schools to demonstrate learning and engagement during your time homeschooling.

Lastly, Termly academic transcripts are designed for your personal records and educational planning. They aren’t used as official reports for government requirements, but they’re a wonderful way to document your child’s progress and celebrate each step of their learning journey.
