How to Properly Select Work Samples for Reporting Purposes

At Euka, we understand that selecting work samples for reporting purposes may be a  time consuming task. We have a few tips and tricks up our sleeves to make the process easier for you and help you provide the necessary coverage of your curriculum.

The Euka premium reporting service provides the opportunity to upload any pieces of work that your child completes as you go through the program. If selecting specific pieces of work as work samples, check out the tips below:

Tip #1: Focus on Work Samples Within Each Subject

Your first instinct might be to leave out certain subjects when selecting work samples, but our advice is to instead focus on the work samples within each subject. This will not only ensure that you have everything you need for reporting purposes, but also demonstrate your coverage of the curriculum.

This means that students can largely skim through day-to-day activities for those subjects and instead take notes, saving them time and effort.

Tip #2: Check Your State's Requirements

Each state has its own requirements for the number of work samples needed for reporting purposes. To avoid any confusion, we recommend reaching out to your state's Department of Education for clarification.

Tip #3: Ensure you have work samples for all subject areas

At the very least, you should have one work sample for each subject and two work samples each for Maths, English, and a third subject. This will provide a well-rounded representation of your child's progress.

Tip #4: Electives for Grade 9 & 10 Students

If your child is in Grade 9 or 10, they have the option to study additional electives beyond the Department of Education's requirements. While our selection form allows for two elective selections at a time, you are welcome to choose more if desired.

To select additional electives, simply visit the Getting Started Resources section in your student portal and fill out the elective selection form.

We hope these tips have helped guide you in selecting work samples for reporting purposes. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.
